Short TOS

Listen, I'm gonna be real with you. I have been writing and rewording and rewriting and rewording my TOS for years. Someday, I'll have it down, and I'll have commercial art licensing/contracts and stuff. Today is not that day. Here is a short and sweet version that I'd like you to skim if you're planning on ordering from me; it pretty much boils down to "I'm a chronically ill college student, also please be chill".

  • First and foremost, I'm chronically ill.  Please be patient! My goal is to keep wait times down to 1-2 weeks, but that's not always possible. At the time of writing this (early August), I'm a couple weeks into new medicine that seems to be helping a weird variety of the issues, which is great! But, it's treatment, not a cure. Not going super into specifics -this is a heads up, not a rant- but I have miscellaneous, diagnosed problems with my musculoskeletal system that make it sometimes make it difficult or impossible sit up and work. I also have a couple different things that affect my memory, cognitive processing speed (brain fog), and cause varying levels of chronic fatigue. Being a FT freelance artist has been INSANELY helpful in easing the strain these cause since I'm not on my feet all day. Whatever furry is reading this,,, i love u

  • I'm a FT college student! I'll be in classes from the end of August till early December, and I'm taking a heavy class load. I do art as my FT job but have to prioritize my grades when school is in session! Just note that it might take me a bit to reply to you and is going to influence wait times.

  • Taxes I pay taxes on my income/transactions, which includes 9.5% state/local sales tax. The sales tax will be included on your invoice! I also had to bump up my prices to cover the fact that I have to pay ~30% into social security & medicare, which means I don't get to keep 100% of the commission price. I feel weird about pricing so it seems like something I should note.

  • Taxes Shoot me an email at SleepyKyju [at] gmail [dot] com with the following:
-what you go by on da/fa/twitter and which that is
-your username & patron tier if applicable
    -character ref
(I will NOT draw a character that doesn't have some kind of clear drawn reference image)
-what kind of art you're after

    -specifics
    (pose, expression, weird notes)
-have you at least skimmed my TOS and agree to it?
-are you 18 or older?  y/n
    -questions/comments/concerns?

    - your paypal email [please make sure anyone else tied to that account or bank is aware you're ordering art so I don't have to deal with chargebacks :( ]
-have you drank water and stretched recently

  • Turn-around times & getting updates

    A. I'm gonna be 100% honest here: I'm cursed. I have a few curses, like I've got a knack for getting bad bread at the store and I can NOT make rice (I can make a perfect meringue buttercream or steak but noooo not rice).   Most irritating on my list of curses is that I can NEVER give an accurate time estimate. I've tried for years. The universe does not want me to abide by a deadline. If I tell you with absolute certainty I will have your art completed in 3 days, SOMETHING. WILL. GO. WRONG. I'll have a flare up, my tablet will stop working, a professor will give a surprise project. I realize this sounds like BS but I'd rather make someone think I'm full of it BEFORE they order from me, not after. My goal is between 1-2 weeks. The planets and their alignment will decide how that's gonna go down.

    B.  Previously, I tried to give everyone updates on their work as I went. I have always tried very hard to be open and communicate with my buyers, especially in recent years where my horrible flesh prison and chronic fatigue have dragged out my turn around times. I've discovered that having to stop & go and wait for replies about check ins... just doesn't work for me. It's an executive dysfunction thing, I think. Normally I'm fine with people requesting check-ins and updates if the piece is complex or a character is tricky, but I am not currently taking on orders for characters like that because of school.  I'll send you the sketch to approve before moving on, but after that, I am instead using Trello and have a friend keeping it updated for me. Please check there first. If you need me for anything you're welcome to email me!! Just please don't email me every other day asking for an update.

  • Quick no-fly list:
    -unreasonable refunds
    -fetish art/characters
-NSFW content, artistic nudity/etc is fine though
-I don't work of written descriptions of characters, I need a single, clear visual image.
-no complex characters/designs right now! Normally they're fine w/ an extra charge, but ya girl is busy :(
-this is everything I can think of, but I reserve the right to change my mind and to deny anyone's order at my discretion.
